With fileee you have a platform where you can collect all documents and receipts in one place. To make this process as easy as possible, there are many cloud services you can connect to fileee to import documents automatically. This includes GoogleMail. Once connected, the PDF documents attached to your e-mails are automatically imported to fileee.
Unfortunately, you can only connect fileee and Gmail via a small detour at the moment. We are sorry about that! We know how important these services are for the work with fileee. Here you can learn more about this topic.
To establish a connection between fileee and GoogleMail anyway, follow these steps:
- Open your Google Account settings at https://myaccount.google.com/security
- Under "Access by less secure apps" click on "Allow access" and then on "Allow less secure apps".
- Open your Gmail settings at https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#settings/fwdandpop
- Under "IMAP access" select the option "Enable IMAP" and click on "Save changes"
- Go back to your Google Account settings at https://myaccount.google.com/security
- Under "Sign in to Google" select "Two-step confirmation" and enable two-factor authentication for your Google Account
- Go back to your Google Account settings at https://myaccount.google.com/security
- Under "Sign in to Google" select "App passwords"
- Add a new app password for fileee, as shown in the following animation Write down the app password. You will need it for step 11.
- Go to your fileee account settings and open "Connected Services" to create a new connection to your Gmail account (https://my.fileee.com/account/linkedServices/newAccount/mail)
- Enter your login data for the connection to your GoogleMail account here. Don't use your usual password as your password, but the app password you created and noted in step 9. Your username is your email address. Also select "IMAP" with "SSL" as protocol and enter "imap.gmail.com" for the incoming email server and "993" as port.
- Optional: If you still get an error message, confirm your registration by opening https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha with your Gmail account and following the instructions there.
- Done. From now on, fileee can use this connection to automatically retrieve PDF documents from the attachments of your Gmail emails.
